The inspiration behind Ryan's Magical Shoes

When my grandson was born, I wanted to give him a gift that was more than a toy—something fun, magical, and meaningful that would make him smile. That inspiration led me to write a story about a magical pair of shoes that could transport a young boy to different countries around the world.

Through his adventures, he discovers that although people may look different, speak different languages, and have different customs and traditions, we also share so much in common. He learns to notice and appreciate our differences, while celebrating the similarities that connect us all.

My parents, both Holocaust survivors, deeply influenced my belief that every person deserves to be treated with dignity, kindness, and equality. I wanted to pass those important values on to my grandson in a way that was joyful, imaginative, and easy for children to understand.
